Calico is a light and airy triangle shawl reminiscent of your favorite flower print dress. It was designed it to be wide enough to wrap and drape nicely while only needing two skeins of fingering weight yarn. Assigned Pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of variegated yarn. In this case, simple Stockinette Stitch is assigned to the main color to create a backdrop for the floret cluster stitch assigned to the accent color.
Yarn 2 skeins or approximately 850 yards of variegated fingering weight yarn.
Finished Measurements 76” wide x 26” deep after blocking.
Needles US size 5 (3.75 mm)
Gauge 24 STS x 32 rows = 4” x 4” in Stockinette ST
Assigned Pooling is a new way to embrace color pooling by letting the color changes have control of the texture pattern. I hope you enjoy exploring this concept as you create your own unique works of wearable art.
